IN AUSTIN
- AUSTIN STUDIOS is operated under the Austin Film Society and provide 20 acres of film/video production facilities as well as a 10,000 square foot production office building and over 100,000 square feet of production space. They also have a 30+ seat screening room for dailies or private screenings which supports 35mm, 16mm, Super 35, VHS and DVD formats. - 501 STUDIOS offers post-production services and studio space. They also have office space available for productions shooting around central Texas.
- MATCH FRAME is a post production company that offers film transfers, DVD duplication and everything in between. They also offer graphic design and video streaming services.
IN LA:
- LARSON STUDIOS is a cutting edge, full-service postproduction sound company specializing in digital mixing for television, film and multimedia. They have an ADR/Foley stage, sweetening rooms and four theater-style 5.1 surround mix stages which are manned by Emmy award winning mixers utilizing the latest ProTools HD technology.
- MARK LITWAK is a veteran entertainment lawyer, arbitrator and author; his practice includes work in the areas of copyright, trademark, contract, multimedia law, intellectual property, and book publishing. He also functions as a Producer's Rep, assisting filmmakers in the marketing and distribution of their films.

FESTIVALS
- THE AMERICAN FILM MARKET is an annual film market held in Santa Monica, California every fall. It is more business oriented and attracts distributors and exhibitors from all over the globe.
- THE AUSTIN FILM FESTIVAL is a yearly festival dedicated to the craft of screenwriting. The festival includes a screenplay competition, several dozen premier screenings, and film panels; it takes place every fall
- aGLIFF is the Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival which consists of a week long festival every fall. aGLIFF also has special screenings and networking parties throughout the year.
- BERLIN FILM FESTIVAL is one of the most important film festivals in Europe. It is the film festival with the most visitors worldwide and takes place every year in February.
- CANNES FILM FESTIVAL is one of the world's most prestigious film festivals held annually in May in the resort town of Cannes in the south of France.
- CINE LAS AMERICAS is an international film festival that showcases contemporary films from North, Central, South American and the Caribbean. The festival is in its 9th year and runs in April each year.
- CINEMA TEXAS is an international film festival organized and created by students at The University of Texas. It is one of the largest short film festivals in the nation and runs for a week during the fall.
- SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL ranks among the top five events of its type in the world. It is the largest independent cinema festival in the United States. It is held annually in Park City, Utah during the winter.
- SXSW is a weeklong film conference and festival in March which focuses on all aspects of business and the art of independent film. From world-wide premiers to exclusive industry-insider film panels, South by Southwest is one of the largest and most acclaimed film festivals in the United States. The festival also provides great volunteer opportunities.
ORGANIZATIONS
- THE AUSTIN FILM SOCIETY is a non-profit media arts organization, founded by director Richard Linklater. Originally focused on the exhibition of rare films, they have grown into a great resource for all aspects of the Austin filmmaking community and provide fiscal sponsorship for projects as well as coordinate the Texas Filmmakers Production Fund, an annual grant awarded to emerging filmmakers in Texas.
- AUSTIN FILM COMMISSION is operated under the Austin City Council and can assist in obtaining permits to shoot in public facilities as well as offer information about street closures, etc. They serve as a liaison between filmmakers and city authorities and policies.
- REEL WOMEN is a non-profit organization that cultivates women filmmakers in Austin. They provide workshops and other educational opportunities as well as networking events.
- THE TEXAS FILM COMMISSION is located in Austin and operated under the office of the governor, but is valuable for any production shooting anywhere in Texas. They have a database of cast and crew calls which are updated daily. They have an extensive catalogue of locations throughout Texas that are film friendly. The film commission also serves as a contact between city government and filmmakers.
- AUSTINACTORS.NET is a website devoted to audition postings in and around Austin. From no-budget student films, to mid-budget indies and everything in between, AustinActors.net is a viable talent and crew resource. They sponsor frequent community mixers that usually includes a guest speaker.
- BURNT ORANGE PRODUCTIONS produces independent feature films and is a unique collaboration with the UT Film Institute within The University of Texas at Austin. They have an open submission policy for scripts.
